Dispute a report

If you are named in a report and believe it is false, defamatory, or unlawful, submit a dispute. We review within 24 hours. Reports are labelled as disputed — they are not deleted. The archive keeps its record.

Copy the URL from the report page.

What happens next

  1. We review your dispute within 24 hours.
  2. If the report violates our content rules — threats, doxxing, hate speech, sexual content, content naming a minor, illegal content, or confirmed defamation — we remove it from public view within 24 hours.
  3. If the report does not violate our content rules — we label it Disputed, visible to every reader, and add your response.
  4. If you provide evidence, we publish your verified response attached to the report so every reader sees both sides.
  5. If your dispute is rejected, we tell you why.

What Wetin Dey will and will not do

Wetin Dey will:

  • Remove from public view within 24 hours any content that is a threat, is doxxing, is hate speech, names a minor, is illegal under Nigerian law, or is confirmed defamation.
  • Label a report Disputed if the claim is contested but does not violate our content rules.
  • Publish your verified rebuttal alongside the report.
  • Permanently ban a session from posting after repeated violations.

Wetin Dey will not:

  • Delete a report solely because its subject disputes it, as long as it does not violate our content rules. Reports are preserved in our records for archive and legal-defense purposes. This is a deliberate policy that protects the integrity of the public archive.
  • Remove criticism of a public agency or of a public official acting in their official capacity.

Urgent cases

For threats of violence, doxxing of a minor, or content that creates an immediate safety risk, email support@wetindey.app with subject “URGENT” and we will prioritize review.
